SOLO Quote,context, significance, wrap up

From HookED Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Students work in pairs or individually to collect significant quotes from the text. Each quote is described, explained and then wondered about. The ideas gathered are integrated to give an insight into how the author has constructed the text for different purposes and audiences.

Quote Context Significance Wrap-up
Unistructural Multistructural Relational Extended abstract
Insert a quote from the text. Describe the context. Who is speaking? Who is listening? What is happening? Explain why this quote is important. Make a generalisation that ties all these ideas together and extends them. For example what does the quote make you wonder about the author's purpose or the effect on the reader?
