SOLO Learning SupportSOLO Taxonomy as a simple and powerful model of learning that keeps the focus firmly on the learning outcome and next steps for learning.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a design framework that keeps the focus firmly on the learner by prompting educators to identify what is “powerful” learning and what is learning “powerfully” for ALL students using recognition, strategic and affective networks.

When you combine the two – magic happens. You can check it out for yourself

I am so very pleased to announce that “SOLO Taxonomy in Learning Support – Building academic and social success” is out.

Special thanks to my co-authors Rachel Saxton Head of Learning Support at Lincoln High School in Christchurch New Zealand and Roxy Hickman who worked with CORE Education as part of a special education needs national team promoting UDL in schools.

Extra special thanks to Geraldine, Tanya, Diane and the rest of the team at Essential Resources Publishers who time and time again take an collaboratively created Google doc, overstuffed with the enthusiasms of SOLO Taxonomy users and transform it.
